A Service of Witness to the Resurrection 3 p.m., Sunday, December 17 at Sumner Presbyterian with burial in the Rosemound Cemetery, Tutwiler. Meredith-Nowell in Clarksdale is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Steele was a music teacher in the West Tallahatchie School system. She was a member of the Tutwiler Women's Club and Sumner Music Club and DAR. She was a longtime member of Tutwiler Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Adelaide Whitaker of Tallahassee, FL and Linda Wall (Ronnie) of Boyle; one sister, Caroline "Dessie" Caulfield of Water Valley; four granddaughters, Linda Whitaker of St. Croix, VI, Sandee Jones of Memphis, TN, Heather Whitaker of Tallahassee, FL and Susan Derby of Arkadelphia, AR; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah Burda and Rachel Burda of Tallahassee, FL, Caroline Derby and Anna Derby of Arkadelphia, AR. She was preceded in death by husband, Woods Steele, Jr.; and brother, Oliver Anderson. Memorials may be sent to Sumner Presbyterian Church, French Camp Academy or donor's choice.
