Jane married James McClure in 1851 in Sequatchie, Tennessee. James was killed in the Civil War on June 15, 1863 in Winchester, Virginia leaving her to raise 5 small children. According to Civil War Pension papers she moved to Georgia in 1888.
The 1900 U.S Census shows she had 5 children with 4 living.
