OBIT: Clarksville Funeral Home, 18 Sep 2013: Evelyn Alley, age 80, of Detroit, passed away, Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Alley owned and operated The Best Little Hair House in Texas for many years in Detroit, Texas. She was born February 3, 1933, in Detroit to James and Myrtle Sanders. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to cook and a member of the First Baptist Church in Detroit. Her husband, John A. Alley preceded her in death along with two sisters, Dorothy Barcus and Martha Enox; and a brother, Bill Smith. Funeral services are set for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Detroit with the Rev. Bill Draper and Rev. Doug Higdon officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday night from 5 to 7 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Chad Wolf, Michael Smith, Oscar Gray, Dale Miller, Jim Missildine and Dale Sulsar. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Simpson and James Boyd Lewis. Survivors include one son, Dustin Alley and wife Melissa of Detroit; two daughters, Johnnie Smith and husband Doyle of Detroit and Brenda Burchinal and husband Mike of Detroit; four sisters, Pat York of Dallas, Mary Ruth Perry of Dallas, Vergie Wendell of Washington, State and Linda Carter of Blossom; two brothers, Kelly Smith of Blossom and Jerry Smith of Kilgore; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
