LeRoy served in the US Navy from 1955-1958. On May 25, 1963 he married Alice B. Jean at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawthorne. He is survived by his two sons; Troy (Dina) Bennett of Wappingers Falls, NY and Barry (Bonnie) Bennett of Wallkill, NY, four grandchildren; Melissa and Nicole Bennett, Tyler and Francesca Bennett and a brother, William Bennett of Hardwick, NJ. Predeceased by his wife, Alice B. Bennett and a daughter, Tracy Ann Bennett.
Interment Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. -
Roy was a guiding member of the Step by Step Group in Shrub Oak, known for having a heart of gold and an strong opinion on how to work the program of AA. He celebrated 23 years of sobriety, and became a loving grandpa and a power of example to his family and all who knew him.
