One of the original homesteader's of Kenny Lake, Alaska, Roy Brittain, 88, passed away peacefully in his home with his long time caregiver Saovanee Braham in attendance on September 8, 2013, following a long illness.

At his request, no services will be held.

Roy was born June 9, 1925 to Marcus Delafayette & Susan Lena (McCoy) Brittain in Olds Ferry, Idaho. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII at the age of 17 serving aboard the Pacific Destroyer Fleet until he was honorably discharge October 25, 1945.

Roy was an active advocate of Community projects such as the Community Advancement League, Fire Hall, Community Well and local schools. He will be remembered as a good worker with many skills that were useful to the new community that grew up around him.

Roy is survived by his former spouse, Marge Brittain; son, Steven Brittain; daughters, Doris Kibble and Christine Graham; along with seven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
