Willette (Willie) Kuffel Stelmach, age 86, a Manitowoc resident, died peacefully at her home with her children at her side, Friday morning, May 27, 2005.

Willette was born Nov. 23, 1918 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joe and Mary Kuffel of Manitowoc. She married Harry Stelmach on June 24, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc, and together they owned and operated "The Supper Club" for 29 years. Willette was a generous member of the Lady's Alter Society of St. Mary's Church; Girl Scout Leader; and a volunteer for many years at St. Mary's Home Coffee Shop.

Survivors include a daughter: Sister Jerianne Stelmach, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a daughter and son-in-law: Kay and James Steuer of Manitowoc; a grandson: Jay Steuer and his wife, Holly of Manitowoc; a granddaughter: Katie Steuer of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters-in-law: Clare Kuffel of Manitowoc; and Norma (Don) Erikson, Honolulu, Hawaii. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Willette was also preceded in death by her husband: Harry Stelmach on April 27, 1978; three brothers: Albian Kuffel, Lars Kuffel and Earl (Helen) Kuffel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski O.F.M. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
