John Szymczyk, 68, of 1901 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Szymczyk was born June 26, 1910, in Milwaukee, son of the late Anton and Mary Prich Szymczyk. He married Alice Zagrodnik Nov. 1, 1933, in Manitowoc. He was employed by Manitowoc Shipbuilding, Inc., until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Szymczyk was a member of the Boilermakers Local 443 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard and Anna Mae Gauthier, and John A. and Kathleen Szymczyk, both of Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ronald Levash of Manitowoc; a sister, Blanche of Texas; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A brother, Stanley and a sister, Sophia preceded him in death.
Friends may call in the funeral home from 4 o’clock to 9 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, where a prayer service will be held at 7 o’clock.
