Marie Thiel Kraft, age 88, a resident of Melbourne, Ark. For the past four years, formerly of 1634 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999, at the Pioneer Nursing Home, Melbourne, Ark.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 8, 1999, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Camillus Janas, O.F.M. with burial of the cremains to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

She was born May 29, 1911, in Chilton, daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Harlow McHugh. Marie was a graduate of Chilton High School. She married Earl Thiel at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Chilton. He preceded her in death in 1972. Marie later married Leonard “Spike” Kraft in Kimberly. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was a former member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc, and the St. Theresa’s Altar Society of the church along with previously belonging to the Manitowoc Senior Center.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Ann Thiel, Mountain View, Ark.; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Robert Weinert, Manitowoc; three granddaughters, Julie Ann Thiel, Jill Marie Thiel and Jeanna Elizabeth Thiel Wilson; seven step-grandchildren, Steve (Alison) Weinert, Randy (Karen) Weinert, Catherine (Howard) Egger, Sarah Stewart, Michelle Schmid, Jeffrey Martin, Daniel Martin; two great-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Thiel in 1972, her second husband, Leonard “Spike” Kraft in 1988; one son, Gerald Thiel; and one brother, Harold McHugh.

Friends may call at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
