Irene A. Wilfer, age 83, a Manitou Manor resident, died Wednesday evening, September 8, 1993, at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 1993, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. James Stamborski with burial at the Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

She was born March 1, 1910, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Martin and Michaelena Mrotek Shemchak. She married George W. Wilfer in 1947. He preceded her in death July 29, 1984. Mrs. Wilfer was employed with National Tinsel Factory until her retirement at the age of 52 due to illness. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Donna Pitsch, Manitowoc; a daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Harlan Hynek, Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Burtt Smith, Manitowoc; two step children, George Wilfer Jr., Calif., Marion Dahl, Fla.; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Susan, Michael, Timothy, Beverly, Thomas, Carol, Kay, Mary, and James; seventeen great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Friday where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. by Father Stamborski.
