"DEATHS - Mrs Martha Tubbs - Mrs Martha Tubbs of Goodwill Hill died suddenly at her home at 7 o'clock last evening. A more extended obituary will be printed in tomorrow's Herald."

"FUNERALS - Mrs Martha Tubbs - Services in memory of Mrs Martha Tubbs will be conducted from the East Branch church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, preceded by prayer service at the home. Brief mention of the death of Mrs Tubbs, which occurred at her home Tuesday evening following brief illness, was made in The Herald, yesterday. She was born in Ayr, Scotland, February 28, 1864, and came to this country when but one year old and settled at an English settlement. On
July 2, 1884, she moved to Excelsior and was united in marriage to David Kerr Tubbs, who died 25 years ago. The remainder of her life was spent near East Branch. She was the mother of nine children, five of whom survive: Virgil and
Gordon Tubbs, at home; Leon Tubbs of Utica, NY; Thayr (sic) [Thayn] Tubbs of East Branch, and Mrs A C Pitt of Kane. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs John Holfast of Vrooman and Mrs Ann Tubbs of Titusville."
