Funeral Services for Mrs. Ness Held in Holt

Mrs. John Ness, 77, died Sunday at Northwest Medical center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ness will be held today (Wednesday) at Nazareth Lutheran church, Holt, at 2 p.m. Rev. Jay Borchert will officiate, and burial will be in Folden cemetery, with the Green Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers are John Lokstad, Donald Skjerping, Ted Skjerping, Harvey Dyrud, Dave Rodahl and Daryl Rodahl.

Linnea Ness was born May 18, 1906 in Worthington to William and Anna Ericksson Olson. She grew up in Battle Lake, and graduated from high school there. She graduated from normal training in Fergus Falls and taught rural school in Otter Tail county.

On April 10, 1929, she married John A. Ness at Battle Lake. They farmed at Battle Lake until 1932 when they moved to Holt township, Marshall county, where they farmed the family farm. Mr. Ness died Feb. 8, 1977. Mrs. Ness was a member of Nazareth Lutheran church.

She is survived by two sons, Earl of Newfolden and Harold of Battle Lake; one daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Berg of White Bear Lake; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Thief River Falls Times, January 15, 1986
