GENE H VOGEL

Gene H. Vogel, 65, of 422 Limestone St., Kiel, entered eternal life on Thursday evening September 7, 2006 at Appleton Medical Center where he was a patient the past three days.
Gene was born November 22, 1940, in Sheboygan, son of Sylvia Voigt Vogel and the late Lester Vogel. He was a 1959 graduate of Kiel High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country from 1959 – 1963.
On December 19, 1964 he married Janet Nauth at the First Presbyterian Church in Kiel. Gene was employed at Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for 30 years where he was plant manager until his retirement. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Schwartzwald and a member of the church council.
Gene loved golfing, fishing and hunting but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Janet, two children; Maureen (Jim) Leurquin of Germantown, Jason (Jenny) Vogel of Gainesville, FL, his mother, Sylvia Vogel of Kiel and three grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers, Robert (Betty) Vogel, Kiel and Donald (Millie) Vogel, rural Kiel, one sister, Nancy (Roger) Gosse, Ada.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester, brother-in-law, Richard Nauth and his mother & father-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home with the Rev. Rebecca Johnston officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery.
