MARGARET BASKEN

Mrs. George Basken, 85, of Gibson, lifelong resident of the county, died Friday morning at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Melnik Presbyterian Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. She was born Margaret Dolezal in Tisch Mills in 1866 and in 1886 married Mr. Basken. They located at Wausau for a year and then moved to a farm in Kossuth, in 1925 they retired and moved to a home in Gibson.
Survivors are her husband; daughter, Mrs. Carl Pagel of Melnik; three sons, George Jr., of Lark, Wis., Edward of Melnik, Henry of Francis Creek; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after Sunday noon. The casket will be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
