Alexander Murray
Alex "Sandy" Murray, 91, owner-operator of Scotch Woolen Mills, a Great Falls tailoring establishment, for a number of years, died in a local convalescent hospital Monday. Murray had been a patient there for the past two months.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the O'Connor Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Murray was born in New York City and came to Belt as a small child. He grew up there and in the Armington area. He came to Great Falls in 1911 and was employed by Star Clothing Co. and J. C. Penney Co. He later operated the Two Little Tailors shop. He retired from Scotch Woolen Mills business in 1941, but later worked at Hub Thisted until 1962.
He married Anna Eisenbart Sept. 11, 1911. She died in 1948.
He was a member of Knights of Pythias and Elks lodges.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Davis and Mrs. Margery Lenihan; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
