A Congregational Church record in West Tisbury, MA, states that Priscilla was baptized on Sunday, July 1, 1764. The marriage of her parents Hezekiah Luce and Mistress Thankful Look had been recorded in Tisbury in 1752, and Priscilla is shown as the fourth of their nine children in the History of Martha's Vineyard (Banks, 1925). Banks says that Hezekiah, a cordwainer, moved his family to Conway, MA, in 1785. It was there that Priscilla met farmer Joseph Boyden, and their Intention of Marriage was filed on April 2, 1787. They had nine children (see Thomas Boyden and His Descendants, 1901) and resided in Conway throughout their 60-year marriage. Following Joseph's death in 1848, Priscilla went to Phelps, NY, where her eldest daughter Polly lived; please see granddaughter Priscilla Robertson's page for details.

Priscilla was a great-aunt of Rear Admiral Stephen Bleecker Luce, who married Eliza Henley, a grandniece of Martha Washington; and of Margaret Bleecker Luce, wife of Rear Admiral Andrew Harwood, a great-grandson of Benjamin Franklin.

86-year-old widow Priscilla Boyden's passing in June 1849 of "old age" after a six weeks' illness was recorded on the Mortality Schedule of the 1850 Federal census at Phelps, New York. It confirmed her birthplace as Massachusetts.

Priscilla's headstone has been nearly illegible for decades. Transcription attempts by those who preceded us are gratefully acknowledged:
