Born in Spartanburg on October 5, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lillian Jennings.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Dorman High School, a seamstress with Freeman and Company, and attended Spartanburg Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors, including her husband, are two sons, Tim Abernathy of Fresno, California and Todd Abernathy of Moore; two sisters, Edna McBride and Kathy Jennings, both of Spartanburg; and five grandchildren.
A Graveside Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Heritage Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Joe Camp officiating.
The family received friends following the service at graveside.
In remembrance of Mrs. Brown, memorials could be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Boulevard, Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
