Matt S. Dempsky, 53, former local building contractor, died early this morning at this home, 1911 Marshall street, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Leschke funeral home, and at 9 o'clock at the St. Mary Catholic church with the Rev. John Landowski officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Mary cemetery.
Born in this city in 1894, Mr. Dempsky was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Dempsky. For 20 years he operated his own carpenter contracting business and for eight years was employed by the Gerl-Drumm Lumber company until ill health forced his retirement two years ago.
In 1918 he married the former Ella Budnik of this city who survives him with two sons, Marcel, a student at Fond du Lac and Clarence, a student at University of Iowa; two brothers, Jess of this city and Frank; three sisters, Mrs. Steve Malley of Manitowoc, Miss Gussie Dempsky and Mrs. Arthur Forsythe, both of Los Angeles.
The body may be viewed at the Leschke funeral home from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services Saturday. The rosary services Friday. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday.
