MARY DERUS
(1886 - 1957)
Mrs. Mary Derus, 70, lifetime Manitowoc resident who made her home at 1611 Madison St., died late Friday Morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The former Mary Pokorski was born Oct. 21, 1886, daughter of the late Jacob and Agnes Schott Pokorski. She was married to Walter Derus in August of 1914. He died in 1920.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Bachmann, two sons, Alex and Erwin, a brother, Michael, and 10 grandchildren, of Manitowoc.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Walter Derus of Sheboygan and Miss Mary Pokorsky of this city were married yesterday at St. Mary's Polish Church. The attending couples were Miss Mary Singer, Jos. Pokorsky and Miss Pauline Ziarnik and Stanley Derus. The young couple will make their future home on Hamilton Street.
