DIES SUNDAY
Rites Wednesday For
Burnettsville Man
Final rites for James William
Scales, 80. whose home was three
mile north of Burnettsville. will
be Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the
Baptist church in Burnettsville.
Burial will be in the Davis cemetery
there.
His death occurred at St. Joseph's hospital at 8:40 o'clock
night, a few hours after he was admitted.
Born November 17 , 1866. in
Howard county his parents were
John and Sarah Sampson Scales.
He had lived in the Burnettsville
community for 52 years.
His wife died last April 6. Survivors;
are three daughters and a
son: Mrs. Laura Maynew and Mrs.
Lela Clary, both of Logansport;
Mrs. Viola Hight. Lafayette; a
son, Burris. Grass Creek; eighteen
Grandchildren including James
W. Smith, who was reared by the
grandparents: twenty-five great
grandchildren; one brother, the
Reverend Perry Scales, Buffalo
The body is at the Miller home
in Idaville, where friends may call
after noon Tuesday.
The Reverend Skelton will officiate
at final rites.
