Originally enlisted into Co. B. 11th Georgia Battalion Infantry on March 4, 1862. Battalion was consolidated and he was enlisted into Co. C. 47th Georgia on May 12, 1862. Mortally wounded and captured at Chattanooga, Tennessee on November 25th, 1863. Died of his wounds in Nashville Prison Hospital # 3 on January 24, 1864.
