Dollie Mae Smith

Dollie Smith passed away at her home in Edmond, Oklahoma, on October 8, 2013, after a brief illness.

Dollie is preceded in death by: her parents, Glenn and Dollie Twiggs; husband Troy N. Smith Sr.; a son, Troy (Butch) N. Smith Jr.; and four sisters.
She is survived by: her daughter, Leslie Baugh of Edmond, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Baugh, Christopher Baugh, Christi Ferrill, Troy Smith III, Eric Smith, David Smith, Travis Smith, Kyle Smith; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her brother, Keith (Elizabeth) Twiggs, of Brenham, Texas; and her sister Sammie Williamson of San Marcos, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family thanks Mary, Irene and Becky for their loving care of both Dollie and Troy.

Dollie's husband, Troy, was the founder of SONIC Drive-In restaurants. Troy started the company in Shawnee, Oklahoma, in 1953 and it has since grown to be the largest chain of drive-ins in the country. Dollie was steadfast in her support of Troy, the SONIC business, and the raising of their two children, Troy, Jr. and Leslie.

The family will greet guests from 6-8 pm on Sunday evening at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, October 14, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Edmond, Oklahoma, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, also in Edmond.
