Jeannette Marie (Kurth) Fidler, age 94, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin with her family by her side. Jeannette previously resided at the Felician Village Garden Apartments in Manitowoc and prior to that at 3006 Lindbergh Drive, Manitowoc.

Jeannette was born March 10, 1919 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Mittnacht Kurth. Jeannette attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1936. On October 5, 1940 she married Victor J. Fidler at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1990 after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary earlier that month. Jeannette was employed with Holy Family Hospital from where she retired in 1981. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was a charter member of the former St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Altar Society of the church. Jeannette was also a member up to the present time of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by six children: Jean Kiefer, Manitowoc, WI; Victoria (Thomas) O'Grady, Fond du Lac, WI; Mary (Jeffrey) Roberts, Manitowoc, WI; Terri (Karl) Birkenstock, Manitowoc, WI; Frank (Rosanne) Fidler, Woodbury, MN; John Fidler, Minneapolis, MN; thirteen grandchildren: Lori (James) Junk, Amy (Adam) Klarkowski, Mary Kiel, Pamela Kiefer, Shannon (Donald) Bangert, Bridget (David) Ashenhurst, Ryan (Betsy) Roberts, Rachel (Todd) Tiffany, Scott Scheurell, Kristen Muench, Ellen Fidler, Marie Fidler, Kevin Fidler; eighteen great grandchildren: Kristopher, Amanda, Brady, Ava, Miranda, Heather, Kayla, Beau, Nicholas, Sean, Logan, Quinn, Vincent, Addyson, Emma, McKenzie, Gavyn and Hudsyn; eight great great grandchildren: Alyssa, Maleah, Jordan, Aubrey, Kaden, Kai, London, and Owen; one sister: JoAnn (Paul) Hoyer; one sister-in-law: Lucille Pankratz; many nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Willian and Edna Kurth; husband: Victor J. Fidler; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Frank and Lillian Fidler; brothers: William P. (Loyola) Kurth, John (Genevieve) Kurth, Paul (Margaret) Kurth; sister: Doris (Roy) Geigel; infant sister: Eunice Kurth; grandson: James J. Kiefer; infant granddaughter: Marie Petska; grandson-in-law: Pierre Kuemmet; brothers-in-law: Lester (Marjorie) Fidler, Roy Fidler, and James Pankratz.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Herring, Dr. Matthew Campbell, Dr. Lynn Baatz and the staff of Manitowoc Homecare Services, Holy Family Cancer Care Center and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center for their compassionate care.
