SENSATIONAL RUMORS CONCERNING DEATH OF LOCAL MAN STRICKEN AT VALDERS PROVE UNTRUE

Found unconscious in a barn on the farm near Valders where he was employed ten days ago, Joseph Becker, of this city died at the hospital here without regaining consciousness, a victim of paralysis and the funeral was held today, burial being at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Becker was found by his employer early one morning and was brought to the hospital here.

Sensational reports that Becker had been run down by an automobile on the road out of Valders and that he had later been carried to the barn and left there without attention have no foundation, it being said by physicians that the man suffered a stroke of paralysis, and that a bruise on his face resulted when he suffered the attack probably.

Becker is survived by a widow, from whom he is divorced and four children, Mrs. G. Kortensky, John and Joseph, Jr., this city and Mrs. W. Theis, Two Rivers.
