From the "Springfield Daily News," (Springfield, Massachusetts), 8 Feb 1915:
Charles E. Wallace Dead.
Boston, Feb 8 -- Charles E. Wallace, aged 67, a Civil war veteran and for 20 years postmaster of Fitchburg, died suddenly of heart disease at Allston today.
He was a native of Clinton, was appointed postmaster in 1891 by President Harrison and except for the period during Cleveland's administration, has served in that capacity continuously. He is survived by a son and daughter, Mrs. Ruth Wass.
