Paula F. Brunner, age 72, of 7331 County Road LS, Manitowoc, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County.

Paula was born on August 21, 1939, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Paul and Sophia (Zawatski) Ziarnik. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1957. On April 12, 1958, she married Richard Brunner at St. Mary Catholic Church. Paula worked many years at Holy Family Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse in the OB department. She enjoyed reading, gourmet cooking and watching football, especially cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Paula enjoyed watching the variety of wild birds out her front window. She loved gardening as you could always tell by the beautiful flowers that surrounded their home and the large vegetable garden.

Survivors include her husband: Richard (Dick) of 53 years; one son: Richard (Rick), of Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Margaret and Terry Blashka, of Manitowoc; three grandchildren: Samantha Blashka, of Two Rivers, Eric Blashka, of Manitowoc, Heather Brunner, of Kiel; three great-grandchildren: Cody, Conner and Paige; one sister: Phyllis Nichols, of Ohio; a special niece: Nancy and her husband Curt Malcore, of Green Bay: a son: Ken and his family; and her pet cat: Lillabelle. Nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son: Timothy; her parents; one sister: Virginia Pleuss; and two brothers: Richard (Dick) Ziarnik and William (Bill) Ziarnik.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Paula will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home and All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. LaLiberte and the 3 West nursing staff at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County, for being so caring to mom and our family.
