Lorraine I. Platz, 81, formerly of 716 Sixth St., Kiel, died Wednesday, May 31, 1995 at Willowdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein, where she had resided for the past four months. She was born April 10, 1914 in the town of Russell to Servatius and Pauline Dorn Schmitz. On June 4, 1936 she married Lester Platz at St. Ann Catholic Church in St. Anna.
She was employed at Lake to Lake Dairy in Kiel for 23 years prior to retiring in 1978. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making baby quilts. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel.
Survivors include four children, James and his wife Mary Jane of Howards Grove, Rozanne Muehlbauer and her husband Charles of Kiel, Kenneth and his wife Susan of Howards Grove, and Ronald and his wife Mutzie of Rural Elkhart Lake; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Alfrieda Hellmer and her husband Fritz of Sheboygan Falls, Ramona Gissal and her husband Keith of Lannon and Kathleen Adams of Kiel; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Raddatz of Sheboygan. Preceding her in death were her husband on Jan. 6, 1993; two brothers and two sisters; and a grandson.
A funeral Mass was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. The Rev. Loren Nys, S.D.D., officiated. Burial was in the Church Cemetery.
