Eli "Pooh" Cornett, 68, of Milan, passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday June 8, 2013. Eli was born Wednesday June 14, 1944 at Viper, Kentucky the son of John and Goldie (Engle) Cornett. He married Nancy (Haessig) Cornett Saturday June 26, 1965 and she survives. Eli was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church south of Sunman and was a retired employee of Monsanto/Bayer in Cincinnati. He had worked for Henry Rose and Sons Well Drilling and was owner/operator of Cornett Drive Way Sealing. Eli loved the outdoors being a lover of golf, hunting, fishing, camping, nature and gardening. He enjoyed working and helping out friends and neighbors. He also loved playing softball, having been a member of several different softball teams over the years until turning the reigns over to his sons. He also coached Milan Little League Baseball and Pee Wee Football for many years. He loved spending time with his Family but still had time to be an avid UK fan.

Eli was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Roger and Wallace "Blue" Cornett and sister June Cornett.

Funeral services for Eli were held on Saturday June 15, 2013, 11AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial followed in St. Paul Cemetery.
