Ada Mae Miller, 91, of Grand Island died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Golden Living Center Park Place.

Celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home, with Dan Naranjo officiating.

Ada was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Sherman County to Ray and Adelia (Bichel) Elrod.

Survivors include her daughter, Christy Miller Camp, and son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Lynn Miller, all of Placerville, Calif.; and brothers, Larry Elrod and Homer Elrod, both of Grand Island.

She is also survived by two granddaughters, Tina Camp Weinreich and Kelly Miller Azores; two great-grandchildren, Kendall Weinreich and Nina Azores; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Jack L. Miller; infant brothers, Lyle and Marvin Elrod; brothers, Tom Garner, A. Don Elrod and Earl Elrod; a sister, Bernice Crist; and a son-in-law, Bernie Camp.

Ada graduated from Loup City High School. Upon graduation, she went to Long Beach, Calif., where she was employed by the Department of the Navy under Civil Service Administration during World War II. She moved to Grand Island in 1945 and went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. She was also employed by the Omaha Grain Exchange and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company of Grand Island. She really enjoyed her employment with Green Thumb which allowed her to travel.

Ada was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and loved to dance. Her hobbies included crafts and embroidery, and above all Ada enjoyed the Elrod family reunions.
