13 Feb 1941 The Index (Hermitage, Missouri)
Last rites yesterday at Goodson for Glen Huckaby Funeral services were held yesterday at the Goodson Baptist Church for Glen Huckaby, 19, employee of the White and Erwin Furniture Company at Bolivar, who died early Monday morning in a Springfield hospital following a short illness. The Rev. M. C. Claspill and W. S. White of the White and Erwin company offficiated. Burial was in the Hopewell cemetery. Survivors include the parents, Mr. & Mrs. Evan Huckaby of Goodson, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. F. S. Scrivner of Louisburg. Glen was known to many in this country. He was a cousin of County Superintendent Elzie I. Miller. He was here only recently and refereed basketball games at the local school. Attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Miller and son, Royal, Mrs. Kenneth Wilson, Miss Blanche Welch and Supt. R. B. Hastings.

We are sorry to hear of the death of Glen Huckaby, 20 year old son of Evan Huckaby, of Goodson. Glen was the grandson of the late Rev. H. C. Huckaby, well known Baptist minister of Hickory County. He is also the nephew of Mrs. Myrtle VanBuskirk of this community. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.
