DWIGHT - Andrew J. Bellis, 84, of Dwight died at 2 p.m. Monday (Aug. 13, 1990) at his home following a lengthy illness.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dwight, the Rev. William D. Isermann officiating.
Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Odell.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Von Qualen-Harris Funeral home, Dwight.
He was born Feb. 8, 1906, in Streator, a son of Joseph and Suzanna Uratchko Bellis. He married Mary Duay in Sunbury Dec. 5, 1928. She survives at home.
Also surviving are five sons, Gene, Streator; Dick, Libertyville; Larry, Clawson, Mich.; Mike, Dwight; and John, Des Moines, Iowa; eight daughters, Dolores Maxson, Chatsworth; M. Catherine Riccolo, Dwight; Theresa Pinkston, Tamarac, Fla.; Rosemary Brown, St. Peters, Mo.; Barbara Pettit, Quincy; Debbie Shephard, Naperville; Judy Lewis, Dwight; and Peggy Agamy, Manhattan, Ill.; one sister, Sue Bellis, Streator; one half sister, Mary Gimera, Streator; 35 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, two half brothers and a grandson.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dwight, and Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Bellis had farmed in the Dwight area and had worked at the Joliet Arsenal.
