Mrs. C. I. (Ruth) Powers died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Powers, the former Ruth Grimsley, was born in Killian, daughter of the late John Wesley and Louisa Locklair Grimsley. She lived in Columbia most of her life and was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
Surviving is four daughters: Mrs. R.W. (Mary) Lilley, Mrs. W.I. (Nell) Eleazer, Mrs. B.D. (Thelma) Cox, and Ruth Powers of Columbia; two sons W.L. Powers of Columbia and the Rev. Jerome C. Powers of Charleston.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Park Street Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Robert Deneen and the Rev. Dr. Paul Wheeler. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel is in charge.
Active pallbearers will be Tom Hoffman, L.W. Raines, M.R. Mobley, M.G. MacGruder, Tom Rodgers and Lawrence Rodgers.
