News Received of Death of John W. Grimsley – Interment at Killian.
News was received in Columbia yesterday of the death in Long Island, New York, of John W. Grimsley, former Columbian.
Mr. Grimsley, who was 23 years of age, was born in Columbia and was raised in the home of Mrs. C. I. Powers, his sister. He spent his boyhood in Columbia and at an early age joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged from the navy several years ago, and, after a short visit to Columbia, returned to New York, where he made his home until his death.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. C. I. Powers and Mrs. Charles Koneman, both of Columbia.
Funeral services will be held in New York and the body will be sent from that city to Columbia. Interment will be at Killian on the arrival of the body.
