Dorothy Jean Jefferson Daniel was born April 23, 1935 to Ms. Lou Ella Mae Woodard and Rev. C. L. Jefferson in Sparkman, Arkansas. She was raised by her loving grandparents Mr. Walker and Lucille Osborne-Keith.
She attended Sparkman Training School and confessed her hope in Christ at a young age joining First Missionary Baptist Church. She worked faithfully until her health failed. She was a member of the Mission Department; she served as church custodian, prayer meeting treasurer and president of the Deaconess. She was always one of the first to make it to Sunday school, as well as, bible study. She believed in being on time and made sure Communion was ready on the First Sunday of each month and took so much pride in doing so.
She met and married her one and only true love, the late Mr. Charles Walter Daniel on January 9, 1949 and to this union nine children were born; seven daughters and two sons. She was affectionately called by "Mull" her children and to all who came in contact with her. She was a very loving and nurturing person who believed in the Word that you should train up a child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Her most notable sayings were "always tell the truth" and "trouble is easy to get into and hard to get out of".
"Mull" also believed if you spare the rod, you spoil the child. She was a great cook and was famously known for her German chocolate cake, tea cake cookies and her homemade biscuits. She loved to fish as often as she could. Mull was a very strong woman and was one who never complained.
After raising her children she decided to work outside the home. Her first job was as a cook at Mr. Coon's Restaurant in Sparkman; she later worked at Henderson State University and at Beverly Nursing Home as a certified nurse's assistant. While at Beverly she displayed the fruits of the spirit, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control.
Mull loved her family and showed it by raising several of her grandchildren, as well as, her great-grandchildren. She rocked plenty of babies in her arms and was trusted within the community to babysit anyone's child. She mastered babysitting and if a baby was fussy in church she would pick them up; give them gum and before you knew it the baby was sleep.
When the holidays came around and someone wanted to eat she would make sure they had a plate. Mull loved people and was a sweet, sweet spirit.
On October 18, 2013, after a moment of devotion with her family and close friends at her side she transitioned from time into eternity. Those awaiting her arrival are her parents; her daughters, Lou Ida, Renee, Shirley Daniel Crawford, Betty Joyce Daniel and her son Charles Edward Daniel; her beloved granddaughter, Katina L. Daniel and grandson Eric Lynn Daniel.
Those who are left to forever cherish her memories and love are: three daughters, Sharon Daniel of Sparkman, AR, Phyllis (Ricky) Harrison of Sparkman, AR, and Celesia Williams of Arkadelphia, AR; one son, Elder Carl Fredrick Daniel of Little Rock, AR; a very special sister-in-law whom she loved as a sister, Veleria Govan of Sparkman, AR; an uncle, Deacon Leo Keith of Milwaukee, WS; nineteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren; two nephews, Leland Govan and Leantowin Goven; a foster daughter, Donna K. Freeman and foster son, John Selph; special friend Merynlene Williams, her play mother, Annie (Momma Dear) Jefferson, other relatives, friends and the First Missionary Baptist Church family.
