Jackie Lee "Jack" Noble
Jan. 29, 1944 - Oct. 24, 2013
Jack passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters. He had been a resident of Camino, Calif., for the past 42 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 until his retirement in 1967. He was an auxiliary member of the Placerville VFW. He was a hydro-electric power plant operator for SMUD for 33 years.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Hannah "Maggie" Rosebeary; stepfather, Otis Rosebeary; father, John Frederick Noble; brothers, Roland Hodge and Jasper Hodge; sister, Beulah Luther; and beloved daughter, Jacqueline Krista Noble. He is survived by his wife, Patty Noble of Camino; sister, Nita Bishop (Leroy) of Oroville; daughters, Robin Noble Dixon (Tim) of Camino, Theresa Ainsworth (Dale) of Placerville, Patty "Charlie" Noble (Tom) of Placerville and Kim Dawson (Greg) of Diamond Springs; grandchildren, Hannah and Lily Dixon, Jack Edison, Andrew, Adam and Levi Ainsworth, Tara and Kevin Long, Jamie Meixner, Jay Shivley, Rob Linson, Patty and Benjamin Klith and Jenny and Kelly Mackey; five great-grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews and friends.
Jack, or "Big Jack" as he liked to be called, enjoyed his wife, girls, grandkids, a cold beer, telling dirty jokes, cheating at golf, reading his history books and suffering the constant disappointment with the performance of his Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a beautiful writer, an eloquent speaker, a prolific tomato grower and an enthusiastic singer, with a unique flair for dancing who relished his life in the Sierras, embracing all that this life afforded him.
He was Dad, Uncle, Gramps, friend, and brother to everybody he met. He had a wicked sense of humor and brought laughter to all who were lucky enough to be around him. He never met a stranger. He was one of a kind. He will be missed.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Nov. 7, at Green Valley Mortuary, 3004 Alexandrite Drive in Rescue, Calif. A reception will follow immediately thereafter (location to be determined).
