WORLD WAR II & KOREAN WAR VETERAN

Jasper Daniel Hodge, 79, died at his home in Belfair, Washington on February 11, 2005.

He was born August 31, 1925 in St. Paul, Arkansas to Harvey Hodge and Hannah (Maggie) Davis.

Jasper married Estella McKinsey on June 21, 1983 in Carson City, Nevada.

Mr. Hodge worked as a Painter Forman in Shop 71 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington, retiring in 1982 after 17 years.

He also retired in 1963, after 20 years service in the U.S. Navy as E-5 Petty Officer 2nd Class. Jasper was a member of the Navy Fleet Reserve.

His hobbies included fishing, gardening, his grandchildren, and he was an avid Raider football fan.

Surviving are his wife Estella of the family home; sons David and wife Mim, Allen and wife Lisa, Gary and wife Elizabeth; daughters Brenda and companion Eric, Mona and companion Randy , Lora and husband John, and Carla and husband Kevin; brother Jack and wife Patty; sister Nita and husband Leroy; 18 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sister Beulah and brother Roland.

Mr. Hodge will be buried at sea by the U.S. Navy.
