Charles Pulis was originally buried in the Dutch burial ground in Paterson, New Jersey. His remains, along with those of his father and grandfather, were removed from the burial ground and interred in the Pulis family plot in Cedar Lawn Cemetery on April 26, 1871. The Pulis family plot was purchased four years after Cedar Lawn officially opened making it one of the oldest in the cemetery.
Note: The small gravestone for Charles Pulis had completely disappeared from view until it was excavated from the ground by volunteers on October 26, 2013. Similarly, the gravestone for Charles' brother, James C. Pulis, who died in 1875, was also retrieved from beneath the soil which apparently overtook both stones decades before.
