SMITH — Mrs. Mary Brand Smith, 78, died yesterday at her home, 4111 Troost avenue. Mrs. Smith had lived in Kansas City nineteen years, coming here from Edina, Mo. She was married to William E. Smith at Edina and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary here February 16 1937. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Miss Josephine Smith of the home, and Mrs. J. V. Coffey, 1203 East Forty-second street, and two sons, Louis B. Smith of the home, and Edgar W. Smith, Edina, three sisters, Mrs. William H. Francis and Miss Blanche Brand, both of Indianapolis, and Mrs. James Rooney, Pueblo, Colo.; a brother, Leslie Brand, Muncie, Ind., and thirteen grandchildren, including Miss Betty Lou Coffey, 1203 East Forty-second street, and Manuel Smith, Hollywood, Calif. The body will be at the Quirk & Tobin chapel, until late this Monday night. Funeral services and burial will be Wednesday at Edina.
