Mrs. Johnson was born on August 19, 1926 in Columbia, South Carolina and was the daughter of Jubal Ransom Early and Ruth Baker Early, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Odell Johnson; the father of her children, William F. Fetner; and two sisters, Mary Hudson and Lola Rawls. She retired from the Department of Defense as an administrative assistant. She was an active member of Recovery United Methodist Church in Bainbridge, where she served on several committees. She was a resident of Bainbridge, before moving to Tifton in 2003. She was active with her husband in the Bainbridge Shriner's Club and Hasan Shrine Temple. She was also a past officer of the Recovery Volunteer Fire Department.
