COLUMBIA - Graveside service for Lola Early Rawls, 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mrs. Rawls died Sunday, August 26, 2012. Born on January 29, 1923, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Jubil Early and Ruth Baker Early. Mrs. Rawls graduated from Winthrop College. She was a Life Master bridge player and loved African violets and traveling the world as a military wife. She was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church. Surviving are grandsons, Talon Rawls, Logan Rawls,Trey Rawls (Scotta), Townes Rawls III (Lori), Austin Rawls; granddaughters, Bree Lawson (Kevin), Blaire Rawls, Lauren Rawls; great-grandson, Connor Downing; sister, Ann Johnson of Tifton, Ga.; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Louie Townes Rawls, Sr. and her parents, she was predeceased by sons, James Randolph Rawls and Louie Townes Rawls, Jr. and sister, Mary Hudson.
