Mrs. Clara Spicer
Mrs. Clara Spicer, longtime resident of Concordia, died Monday, June 9, at the Concordia, Kans home. She was 83. Mrs. Spicer was born at Fairfield, Iowa may 9, 1886, a daughter of Henry and Mary Carr. She came to the Concordia community wither parents as a small child. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Harry C. Spicer Oct. 27, 1901 at her parents' country home. Mr. Spicer died in 1915.
Mrs. Spicer is survived by three daughters: Lille May now Mrs. Clifford Lloyd of Lincoln, Neb.; Ruth Fay, now Mrs. Raymond Dugas of Concordia; and Cora ?, now Mrs. Ralph Nelmeiger of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a half brother, Raymond Biglow of Grinnell; three half sisters; Mrs. Susie Mocher of Grinnell; Mrs. Nellie Marcotte of Nelson, Neb.; and Mrs. Edith McClenand of Cowley, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sons, two daughters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the South Funeral home with the Rev. David Sevard officiating and the Rev. Dr. H. H. Vogel assisting. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
