Judge Fry issued marriage licenses Saturday to two couples and to one today. They are as follows: Fred Marcotte, Concordia, age 24, and Nellie Bigbee, Concordia, 18. This couple was married by Judge Fry.

Nellie Marcotte
1896 - 1981
EDGAR - Nellie May Marcotte, one of 8 children of Leroy Elmer Beibee (sic) and Mary Jane Burris Bigbee, was born December 25, 1896, at Orion, Kansas, and Passed away June 9, 1981, at the Bethesda Care Center in Edgar, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 15 days.
On September 28, 1914, Nellie was united in marriage to Fred Joseph Marcotte at Concordia, Kansas. To this union 12 children were born.
Nellie has lived in the Kansas and Nebraska areas until making her home at the Bethesda Care Center in Edgar April 4, 1973. She was a member of the Edgar Christian Church of Edgar, Nebraska, and the Superior V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband: Fred Marcotte who died April 10, 1967; a daughter: Betty Gertrude who died December 11, 1932, at the age of 7.
Nellie ws (sic) a wonderful, devoted, loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to mourn her passing are her children: Ronalda, Mrs. Jim Barnes of Whiting, Kansas; Dorothy, Mrs. Harvey Gerstner of Frankfort, Kansas; Maxine, Mrs. Gerald Ponton of Junction City, Kansas; Maurine, Mrs. Doyle Troudt of Hastings, Nebraska; Marie, Mrs. Burdette Brown of Channing, Texas; Frieda, Mrs. Elmer Lemke of Geneva, Nebraska; Clara Bell, Mrs. George Lemke of Superior; Elmer Marcotte of Hastings; Leo Marcotte of Goodland, Kansas; Don Marcotte of Filmore, California; Claude (Bill) Marcotte of Edgar; her sister: Susie, Mrs. Jake Mather of Ginnell, Kansas; her brother: Raymond Bigbee of Oakley, Kansas; 43 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives.
Services were held Friday, June 12, 1981, at 10:30 a.m., from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Markland officiating. Pallbearers were: Harvey Gerstner, Gerald Ponton, Elmer Lemke, Jim Barnes, George Lemke, Burdette Brown. "Ivory Palaces" and "How Great Thou Art" was sang by Carol Shambaugh with Carlita Price as the organist. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery (sic).
