Emma married Rev. Francis Southworth on March 31, 1861 in Holden. Rev. Southworth was a pastor in Holden from 1856 to 1862. He went on to become a leader in the field of establishing religious institutes and charitable establishments which were for the betterment of the sailors in the Portland area.
