Son of valley pioneers Jesse A. Blasingame and Mary Jane Sample, Grandson of W T Sample and Sallie Cole, husband of Thelma. He was born on the land his father homesteaded in 1852. His sons Morgan and Knox Blasingame still run the Blasingame ranch and have kept it a working horse ranch much as it was in the 1850's. His daughter Barbara still owns land in the Clovis foothills as well. The Blasingame and Sample families were entered into the Congressional record in 1999 as "Clovis Founding Families."
