Lewis L. Elston, 89, of Antwerp, Ohio, a member of Antwerp United Methodist Church, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home..

The Washington Township native was a farmer and carpenter. He retired from Dana Weatherhead..

Surviving are his son, Lewis Richard of Middle Point; daughters Bonnie Clemens and Maxine Treece, both of Paulding, Carolyn Roth of Tilton, Ill., and Ann Balser of Antwerp; a sister, Ruth Gudakunst of Cloverdale; 30 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren..

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; a daughter, Ruth Stoller; brothers Ray, Ernest, Jesse, Roy and Everett; sisters Rosie and Lucy Elston and Flossie Stuble; and two grandchildren..

Services are 11 a.m. (Ohio time) Wednesday at Antwerp United Methodist Church, Antwerp. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Maumee Cemetery..
