TALLADEGA - The Rev. Harry Woods, 95, much loved Dad, friend, and servant of God left this world peacefully on Jan. 10, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Belle Ballew. He served 63 years as a minister in the Church of God prior to his retirement in 1972. He had a special talent for organizing and building new churches. He was able to reach out and touch people who were unchurched and living in poverty. His life and home going will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel with the Rev. Freddie Edwards officiating. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, one daughter, and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In honor of his life and work, contributions may be made to Church of God Headquarters, Home Mission, P.O. Box 19765, Birmingham, AL 35219. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the services.
