She was the only girl in a family of four children and received her bringing up in and near Hillsboro. She remained at home until the age of twenty years, when she was married at Mayville to Mr. A. J. Forde, at this time connected with the Hillsboro Lumber Co., on her birthday anniversary of 1894.
She became the mother of a large family of twelve children, all of whom are left to mourn her, except one.
Having been a resident of this city since her marriage, she is well known and her death at the prime age of 48 years and 9 months, was a sad surprise to all who knew her.
She has been a sufferer for the past three years, and her recent departure, though not altogether unlooked for, left an empty place in the family circle.
Left to mourn her are her husband, Mr. A. J. Forde, three sons: Lynn, Everett and Vernon; eight daughters, Mrs. F. E. Stith of Carson, ND; Mrs. Dan Sept, of this city; Amy, Ruth, Ella, Florence, Bertha and Magel; also three brothers: Haldor Hovde of Hillsboro, Ole. I. Hovde of Norquay, Sask., Canada; and Martin L. Hovde of Jamestown, ND.
She will be long remembered a devoted mother, a dutiful wife and a true friend, and those who remain to mourn can only hope to join her in that Higher Sphere where His will be done.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Zion Lutheran Church and the remains were laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery.
