Services will be conducted Tuesday for Laura J Sept.. a longtime Santa Cruz music teacher who died Friday in Vallejo She was 83.

A California native, she had been a resident of Santa Cruz for over 30 years after coming to this area from Modesto. She taught music for many years locally and served as the president of the Santa Cruz County branch of the Music Teachers Association of California. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Cruz.

She was the widow of Dan Sept, who died in 1981. She is survived by two brothers, Everett Forde of St. Paul. Minn., and L. Vernon Forde, Capt., U S N. Ret. of Vallejo, and two sisters, Amy Hovland of Fargo, N.D. and Bertha Kaldor of Hillsboro, N.D.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:15 a m. at Oakwood Cemetery on Paul Sweet Road with the Rev. Kent Webber of First Presbyterian Church officiating Friends may call at Irvin M. Smith and Sons Little Pine Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Monday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Contributions to the Cancer Fund or the Easter Seal Society are preferred.
