Mrs. Margaret Denny was the daughter of Peter & Marguerite Watier Gilbert. She was born on 6 April 1858 in Ogdensburg. She married Joseph Denny and lived at 1009 New York Avenue. Her funeral was on 11/29/1937 at Notre Dame Church with Monsignor Garand officiating. She was buried in the Notre Dame Cemetery. Her husband predeceased her by 34 years.

Obituary from the Ogdensburg Journal, Monday April 26, 1937 follows:

Mrs. Denny Passed Away at Her Home

Mrs. Margaret Gilbert Denny, 69, widow of Joseph Denny, died this morning at 12:15 o'clock at her home, 1009 New York Avenue after an illness of three years.

She was born in Ogdensburg April 6, 1858, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gilbert (Editors Note: I think this is in error as she is mentioned as the sister of Lucy Gilbert Ashley in Lucy's obituary and as having a brother Albert Gilbert here. The age and these references would indicate that she was the sister of Henry Joseph and the daughter of Peter and Marguerite Gilbert). She was a member of Notre Dame Church. Her husband died 34 years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Denny are 11 children, all of Ogdensburg. They are William, Albert, Frank, Henry, Archie and Peter Denny, and Mrs. Nellie Falardeau, Mrs. Margaret Ladouceur, Mrs. Andrew Martin, and Mrs. Patrick Tynan; also a brother, Albert Gilbert.

The body was removed to the McLellan Funeral parlors and will be taken this afternoon to her home where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 7:30 o'clock and at Notre Dame Church at 3 o'clock. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Mrs. Denny was an esteemed resident and her many friends in this city will deeply morn her death.
