Jennings: The family and friends of Eleanor Leger Beal are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 and embraced in the arms of Jesus. She was 73 years old. Eleanor was born in Evangeline, LA to Richard S. Leger and Rose Bourgeois Leger on April 20, 1940. Known to her family and friends as "Ghenny", she had such a fun loving personality and loved being around people. Serving in law enforcement for 28 years, Eleanor was a secretary for the chief of police here in Jennings before completing her career in retirement. Eleanor was also a licensed real estate agent for 20 years. She was also the President of the Animal Relief Foundation. She was a loyal member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. She served the Lord faithfully and attended Holy Hour weekly since 1992. She loved watching Broadway shows, going to the beach, dancing, and going to Disney World. Eleanor lived each day to the fullest to love and care for her family and the members of her community. Her presence in all of their lives will never be forgotten.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie "Rhee" Fisher of Moss Bluff; one sister, Annette Dietz of Evangeline; two grandchildren, Ty Newcomb and Keli Vines and her husband Ben Vines; and one great grandson, Broc Vines all of Moss Bluff.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rose B. Leger and a sister, Jeanne Land.

Funeral services honoring her life will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Father Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jules Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 7th from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited by Sandra Hotard at 6:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Friday at 8:00 AM until the time of her funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Eleanor Beal requests donations is made to the Animal Relief Foundation.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ty Newcomb, Ben Vines, Johnny Lassiter, Dickey Dietz, Davey Land, and Christopher Fleming.
