Letitia was the daughter of Civil War veteran and Raleigh County pioneers, Hughes Jefferson Warden and Susan Ann Williams Warden Baldenburg Jordan (1838-1901). Her father never returned from the war. Her mother worked as a midwife in area and her name is found on many local birth records.

Letitia married George W Bailey on the 12th day of June 1872 in Raleigh County, West Virginia. The couple raised 12 children to adulthood and were survived by all of their children, which is kind of a phenomenon for the time. After George's death in 1916, at the age of 62, she married Pyrrhus or Paris Bailey on the 25th of November 1917 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.
